Like so many composers who have set this Eastertide antiphon polyphonically, Lusitano paraphrases the plainchant melody closely throughout the work. However, what makes this piece unique is Lusitano’s distinct harmonic language, most evident in his preference for exploring “flat” sonorities, such as at bar 8.
