Lusitano included two works in his 1555 publication that paid tribute to a work of the same text by Josquin des Prez. In homage to Josquin’s Praeter rerum seriem, Lusitano expands Josquin’s original 6-part texture to a sumptuous 8 voices, whilst building on Josquin’s unusual scoring by writing for 3 equal Altus parts.
