A setting of the story of the Canaanite woman pleading with Jesus to heal her daughter (often heard during Lent). Each statement of the text – particularly the woman’s cry for help and Jesus’ responses – is very spacious, set to long note values with wide leaps and the result is a touching and solemn motet.
