A setting of a text from the Book of Tobit which speaks of the belief that God will never abandon his people in their time of need. Attention is drawn to particular words such as coronabitur (“[their life] shall be crowned”) and liberabitur (“it shall be delivered”) through the use of more direct homophonic writing. Also present is Lusitano’s distinct preference for flat sonorities.
