A succinct parody of Victoria’s Song of Songs motet Vidi speciosam (a text associated with the Feast of the Assumption). Much like Palestrina’s 6-voice Masses, Victoria often employs direct homophonic writing, saving more elaborate sections of polyphony for later in the Mass – an additional 7th voice is added in the Agnus Dei in canon.
