In this motet based on Jesus’s parable of the sower, Vivanco offers some wonderful instances of word painting: as a great crowd of people assembles to hear Jesus, the music is madrigalian and playful in character before the image of the sower scattering his seed is conjured up by a wiggling melodic line.
