A setting of a portion of Psalm 119 and a fine example of the Elizabethan Psalm motet genre as cultivated by composers such as White, Robert Parsons and William Mundy. The 2nd half of the motet uses a number of “gimells” (where one voice divides into two), eventually creating a sonorous 6-part texture before returning to 5 voices for the thrilling final Amen.
