This magnificent parody of Gombert’s Eastertide motet Ego sum qui sum is arguably Rogier’s finest Mass. The six-part polyphony is especially sonorous and, like Gombert, Rogier often avoids cadences, incorporates sequences at the end of most movements and also includes some distinctly Flemish false relations.
