A parody of a madrigal by Giaches de Wert. As with many other Masses based on madrigals and chansons, the pieces’s secular origins can be seen in the use of lively syncopated rhythms and the style is much more text-driven than parodies of sacred works. The Tenor may be assigned to a mixture of Baritone and Tenors if desired.
