In this antiphon for the 2nd Sunday of Advent, Esquivel pays tribute to earlier settings of this text by Morales and Guerrero by casting Superius II as an ostinato, insistently repeating the opening phrase. This setting is also notable for its prominent use of chromaticism in the opening bars.
