This short Mass is typical of Franco-Flemish parodies of secular models, gracefully reworking the chanson material for sacred use. In the printed source, a fifth voice is introduced in the Agnus Dei but this edition also includes a 4-part Agnus Dei found only in a manuscript source that repurposes the music of the 1st Kyrie (interestingly this alternative source attributes the Mass to Crecquillon but the printed source’s ascription to Clemens is more widely accepted).
