A lively and dramatic setting of the Angel’s announcement of the birth of Jesus to the shepherds, notable for it’s use of a solo voice in the opening line of the Angel’s message. Such techniques would become commonplace in the early 17th century as the Baroque style took hold but this is an early example, being published in 1578.
