Vivanco included two short Benedicamus Domino settings at the end of his Liber Magnificarum to further demonstrate his contrapuntal prowess. The first setting is a mensural canon with only three of the five voices notated in the source – the remaining two voices are realised by singing the Bass part at different speeds. The second setting for four voices is written in quadruple invertible counterpoint and Vivanco provides instructions of how each voice part may be sung as the Bass line to create four different versions of the same piece. All four variants are provided in this edition.
