A charming parody of a chanson by Pierre de Manchicourt. The original is scored a4 but Clemens adds an additional Superius to give the music an even brighter quality. As was common in the 16th century, further expansion of the texture takes place in the Agnus Dei with an additional 6th voice. This edition is primarily based on the printed copy (1570) but a different version of the Agnus Dei exists in manuscript sources. Given that the manuscript sources are underlaid with miserere nobis and print with dona nobis pacem it seems appropriate to include both here.
