This imposing motet for Eastertide is typical of the late Renaissance and early Baroque eras with Venetian-style antiphonal exchanges between the two choirs. The entries gradually converge to create a virtuosic and joyful Alleluia for all 8 voicesPraetorius also used this motet as the basis for his Missa Tulerunt Dominum meum.
