A beautiful setting of words from the Song of Solomon. Gombert’s harmonic language depicts the exotic nature of the text with some spicy false relations and sinuous vocal lines.

Although the range of the Quintus, Sextus and Tenor is equal, the Tenor occupies a lower tessitura and has been scored for a Baritone in this edition. Equally, Directors may find it helpful to assign a mixture of Tenors and Baritones to this line.
