A contrafactum of Monteverdi’s madrigal Dorinda, ah dirò mia arranged by Aquilino Coppini. This edition has been transposed down a perfect 4th in accordance with the clef combination. Pitch in Monteverdi’s day was almost certainly one semitone higher than ours today and modern performers are encouraged to adopt this where possible. Directors may also wish to assign the Alto part to a mixture of Tenors and Altos at specific moments or throughout.
